CENTUM VP system Introduction
CENTUM VP is an integrated production control system that manages and controls the operation of plants in a wide variety of industries, including petroleum refineries, chemical, steel, food,power, and so forth.
This manual (System Overview (HMI Overview)) provides a simple overview of the HIS (Human Interface Station) of CENTUM VP HMI (Human Machine Interface). Before reading this manual,first read the separate System Overview (General Overview) manual to understand the overview of the CENTUM VP, and then read this manual. After that, proceed to detailed material, such as General Specifications.
The I/O Modules include Analog I/O Modules, Digital I/O Modules and Communication Modules. There are several types of Analog I/O Modules, including the isolated channel type, isolated type and non-isolated type.
In addition, to enable replacements from CENTUM VP, CENTUM-XL and µXL compatible modules are provided so that the system cable from the Signal Conditioner can be connected to these compatible modules.
For the I/O Modules, the environment-proof support (temperature environment support, G3 support) options can bespecified.
The I/O Module is Explosion Protection product. For details, refer to “Explosion Protection” (TI 33Q01J30-01E).
Field Control Unit (for Vnet/IP and FIO)
FCS performs control computation functions for each function block and input/output functions for process and software inputs/outputs. Field control unit (FCU) is the core of FCS and following units are available.
