CENTUM VP system Introduction
CENTUM VP is an integrated production control system that manages and controls the operation of plants in a wide variety of industries, including petroleum refineries, chemical, steel, food,power, and so forth.
This manual (System Overview (HMI Overview)) provides a simple overview of the HIS (Human Interface Station) of CENTUM VP HMI (Human Machine Interface). Before reading this manual,first read the separate System Overview (General Overview) manual to understand the overview of the CENTUM VP, and then read this manual. After that, proceed to detailed material, such as General Specifications.
The I/O Modules include Analog I/O Modules, Digital I/O Modules and Communication Modules. There are several types of Analog I/O Modules, including the isolated channel type, isolated type and non-isolated type.
In addition, to enable replacements from CENTUM VP, CENTUM-XL and µXL compatible modules are provided so that the system cable from the Signal Conditioner can be connected to these compatible modules.
For the I/O Modules, the environment-proof support (temperature environment support, G3 support) options can bespecified.
The I/O Module is Explosion Protection product. For details, refer to “Explosion Protection” (TI 33Q01J30-01E).

Migration
Not satisfied with another vendor's control systems? Consider migrating it to CENTUM VP. We have successfully migrated over 600 non-Yokogawa systems so far and the number is steadily growing. Upgrading
All Yokogawa's legacy CENTUM systems can be controlled and monitored from a newer CENTUM system. Via a control network, CENTUM VP can control and monitor operation at a plant relying on CENTUM V, CENTUM-XL, CENTUM CS, or CENTUM CS 3000 system. CENTUM VP can also communicate with both N-IO and traditional FIO. Yokogawa will continue to sell and provide long-term support for both types of I/O. This allows Yokogawa customers to utilize their existing assets wherever possible, thus, Yokogawa offers a cost-effective way to upgrade End User production control systems.
