1785-L30B Functional Description
The 1785-L30B Controller Module is an Allen-Bradley PLC5 controller designed for industrial automation applications. It offers 32K words of user memory and features multiple communication ports, including two DH+/Remote I/O combination ports and a serial port supporting RS-232, RS-422A, and RS-423 standards. This versatility enables the 1785-L30B Controller Module to integrate seamlessly with a wide range of I/O devices.
Supporting up to 1024 I/O devices, the 1785-L30B Controller Module can handle a variety of discrete and analog input and output devices. It also supports up to 28 Remote I/O racks, making it ideal for large-scale operations that require distributed control. Additionally, an Ethernet module can be added for further flexibility in implementing Remote I/O architectures over Ethernet networks.
The 1785-L30B Controller Module is equipped with a battery that maintains memory integrity when power is removed, ensuring the controller retains user and program data. A BATT LED indicator provides real-time feedback on battery status. The controller can operate for up to 84 days without power, depending on the battery charge.
The front panel of the 1785-L30B Controller Module includes various indicators, such as PROC for controller status and FORCE to indicate if I/O forces are enabled. A three-position key-switch allows users to switch between Run, Program, and Remote modes, providing simple control over the system. The controller’s design and features make it a reliable choice for demanding industrial environments.

Classic PLC-5 Family Processor Features
From the family of PLC-5 processors, you can choose the processor(s) that you need for your application. Features common to all Classic PLC-5
processors are:
The PLC-5 processor in adapter mode acts as a remote station to the supervisory processor. The adapter-mode PLC-5 processor can monitor and control its processor-resident local I/O while communicating with the supervisory processor via a remote I/O link.
