1785-V80B Functional Description
The 1785-V80B processor card is part of the PLC-5 series, offering compatibility with the C.1 VMEbus specification, allowing direct connection to VMEbus systems and integration with other VMEbus CPU modules. Unlike other PLC-5 processors, the 1785-V80B processor card does not use EEPROM memory modules.
With a memory capacity of up to 100,000 words, the 1785-V80B processor card can manage up to 32,000 words per data table file and supports 2,944 I/O points, including 2944 analog I/O. Its scan time is 0.5 ms per 1000 words for bit logic or 2 ms per 1000 words in typical conditions. The processor supports transmission rates of 57.6 kbps, 115.2 kbps, and 230 kbps, with a 0.5 ms extended local I/O scan time.
The 1785-V80B processor card has four configurable communication ports for DH+ or remote I/O connections. It can connect up to 23 I/O racks and 92 remote I/O chassis, but does not support extended local I/O chassis. Additionally, it features an RS232 port for serial communication.
For programming, the 1785-V80B processor card runs ladder logic programs from the enhanced PLC-5/40 processor with the same scan time. It also introduces a VME status file to control and monitor VMEbus data, along with extended Ladder MSG instructions for VMEbus data transfers and interrupts. The 1785-V80B processor card can be programmed via DH+, serial communication, or a VMEbus backplane connection.

Classic PLC-5 Family Processor Features
From the family of PLC-5 processors, you can choose the processor(s) that you need for your application. Features common to all Classic PLC-5
processors are:
The PLC-5 processor in adapter mode acts as a remote station to the supervisory processor. The adapter-mode PLC-5 processor can monitor and control its processor-resident local I/O while communicating with the supervisory processor via a remote I/O link.
