1785-ME32 Functional Description
The Allen-Bradley 1785-ME32 is a PLC 5 Memory Device Module designed for industrial use. It operates within a temperature range of 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F) and can be stored in temperatures ranging from -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). This module is suitable for environments with relative humidity levels between 5% and 95%, as long as there is no condensation present.
The 1785-ME32 Memory Device Module consumes 2.5A of backplane current at 5V DC and supports a maximum of 3072 analog I/O points. It allows up to 32 remote I/O chassis per I/O link, making it highly adaptable for complex control systems. With 32K of memory, this module can also serve as a backup for programs, ensuring data integrity in case of power loss.
The module is built to withstand industrial conditions, with an operating shock tolerance of 30g (3 pulses, 11ms) and a non-operating shock resistance of 50g (3 pulses, 11ms). It is equipped with a Control Coprocessor Expansion Port for additional functionality. Additionally, the 1785-ME32 Memory Device Module boasts robust electromagnetic protection, with ESD immunity of 6 kV for contact discharges and 8 kV for air discharges. Its radiated RF immunity includes protection against signals from 30 MHz to 2700 MHz, ensuring reliable operation in noisy environments.
As a user-modifiable read-only memory (ROM) module, the 1785-ME32 Memory Device Module is erasable and can be reprogrammed multiple times with higher-than-normal power supply voltages. It is primarily used for storing critical data, such as calibration tables and device configurations, ensuring that vital information remains intact even when power is removed. When downloading programs, ensure all power is turned off to the chassis and I/O processor to prevent damage.

Classic PLC-5 Family Processor Features
From the family of PLC-5 processors, you can choose the processor(s) that you need for your application. Features common to all Classic PLC-5
processors are:
The PLC-5 processor in adapter mode acts as a remote station to the supervisory processor. The adapter-mode PLC-5 processor can monitor and control its processor-resident local I/O while communicating with the supervisory processor via a remote I/O link.
