1756-L60M03SE Functional Description
The Allen-Bradley 1756-L60M03SE is a legacy controller module within the ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) family. Featuring an integrated memory of 750 KB, with 478 KB dedicated to I/O memory, it is designed for versatile automation applications. This module also offers three integrated SERCOS axes for motion control, making it ideal for industries requiring precise and reliable motion control.
One of the standout features of the Allen-Bradley controllogix 1756-L60M03SE is its extensive communication capabilities. It includes an integrated RS232 serial port and supports a broad range of communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Data Highway Plus, Remote I/O, and SynchLink. Additionally, the serial port supports various protocols including ASCII (for barcode applications), DF1 (full/half-duplex), DH-485, and Modbus via user-defined logic. This ensures flexibility in connecting to diverse networked devices. The controller can manage up to 250 simultaneous Controller connections, making it suitable for large-scale applications.
The 1756-L60M03SE GUARDLOGIX 5562S PROCESSOR is fully compliant with the IEC 61131-3 standard, which defines the five standard programming languages for PLCs and PACs. These include Relay Ladder, Structured Text, Function Block, and Sequential Function Chart (SFC). This compliance ensures ease of programming and broad compatibility with industry-standard tools.
Allen Bradley 1756-L60M03SE For motion control, the controller supports compatibility with Encoder inputs, LDT inputs, and SSI inputs. It is capable of handling both Stepper motor and Servo motor applications, and it supports Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) through DeviceNet or analog AC drive control.
The 1756-L60M03SE 5560 ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) can be used in both stand-alone configurations and distributed applications, with the flexibility to integrate non-ControlLogix I/O modules, such as the Flex I/O and Point I/O systems. It also supports controller-to-controller communication via compatible communication adapters, further enhancing its scalability and connectivity in complex automation setups.

ControlLogix System Overview
The ControlLogix system provides discrete, drives, motion, process, and safety control together with communication and state-of-the-art
I/O in a small, cost-competitive package. The system is modular, so you can design, build, and modify it efficiently with significant savings in
training and engineering.
A simple ControlLogix system consists of a standalone controller and I/O modules in one chassis. For a more comprehensive system, use the
following:
• Multiple controllers in one chassis
• Multiple controllers joined across networks
• I/O in multiple platforms that are distributed in many locations and connected over multiple I/O links
• Select ControlLogix products are available with a conformal coating that adds a layer of protection when exposed to harsh, corrosive
environments. Products with a conformal coating have a ‘K’ suffix at the end of the catalog number.
The ControlLogix controller is part of the Logix 5000™ family of controllers.
• ControlLogix controllers can monitor and control I/O across the ControlLogix backplane, and over I/O links. ControlLogix controllers
can communicate over EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, DH+™, Remote I/O, and RS-232-C (DF1/DH-485 protocol) networks and
many third-party process and device networks.
• The controller can be placed into any slot of a ControlLogix chassis and multiple controllers can be installed in the same chassis.
Multiple controllers in the same chassis communicate with each other over the backplane (just as controllers can communicate over
networks) but operate independently.
• To provide communication for a ControlLogix 5570 controller, install the appropriate communication interface module into the
chassis. ControlLogix 5580 controllers have a built-in EtherNet/IP port.
