IC220PBI002 Functional Description
The IC220PBI002 DP Network Interface Module, produced by GE Fanuc Automation, is a key component of the VersaPoint series. This PROFIBUS-DP Network Interface Module supports data rates up to 12 Mbit/s and allows serial communications. However, firmware upgrades are not available. The IC220PBI002 operates with a nominal power input of 24 VDC, within a voltage range of 19.2-30 VDC. The module can support up to 63 additional modules, but it does not feature a numeric LCD display or digital inputs/outputs.
In terms of power, the GE Fanuc IC220PBI002-DA VersaPoint Segment Terminal has a maximum input of 8A, while its Local Bus UA current is 500 mA. It requires a terminal strip (IC220TBK087) with 10 connection points. The PROFIBUS-DP system includes the network interface unit, connectors, DIP switches, and LED indicators. This module enables interconnected VersaPoint I/O modules to function as a slave within a PROFIBUS-DP network. Additionally, it allows up to 176 bytes of input and output data per station.
