IC695PSA140 Functional Description
The IC695PSA140 is a versatile power supply module within the PACSystem RX3i family, designed for use in redundancy and load-sharing applications, as well as providing additional power to the backplane. Compatible with other modules carrying the same IC695 catalog number, it offers flexible integration for various industrial systems. This power supply is ideal for enhancing system reliability by supporting hot-standby or redundancy configurations.
The IC695PSA140 versatile power supply module provides a maximum output power of 40 Watts, operating with an input voltage range of 85-264VAC or 100-300VDC. It features three distinct output ports: +5.1 VDC (30 Watts max), +24 VDC relay output (30 Watts max), and +3.3 VDC (used internally by compatible RX3i modules). The IC695PSA140 versatile power supply module is capable of supporting up to four power supplies within a single RX3i PACSystem rack, delivering efficient power management and fault tolerance.
IC695PSA140 versatile power supply module is equipped with key safety features, including overcurrent protection, with limits of 7 Amperes for the 5.1 VDC output and 10 Amperes for the 3.3 VDC output. It also includes four LED indicators for power, fault detection, overtemperature, and overload conditions. In case of a power failure, the IC695PSA140 ensures reliable output for 20 milliseconds, thanks to its ride-through time.
The IC695PSA140 versatile power supply module is designed to be easily integrated into larger systems, occupying two backplane slots and supporting up to four modules in total. This power supply is especially beneficial in applications requiring a higher number of modules than a single power supply can typically support, offering robust performance and redundancy in industrial automation environments.

Open Architecture
Based on the VME-bus standard, the Series 90-70 can be used with thousands of boards produced by hundreds of different manufacturers to build a solution that meets your exact needs. These include links to drives and drive systems, servo motor controllers, embedded solutions for vision systems and bus-to-bus interface modules, as well as a variety of modules available from GE (see accompanying table).
Various Degrees of Redundancy
Combining the Series 90-70 with the advanced functionality of Genius* I/O, GE Genius Modular Redundancy (GMR) systems and Hot Standby systems can provide as much or as little redundancy as you need for your critical applications.
• The versatility and strength of the GMR system make it an ideal choice for rigorous emergency shutdown and human life protection systems. It has a class 6 TÜV rating.
• Based on three isolated PLCs and extensive diagnostics, the GMR triple modular redundancy system uses two-out-of-three voting to provide high reliability and errorfree operation.
• CPU Genius Redundancy (CGR) systems achieve enhanced hot standby CPU redundancy by connecting two power supplies and two CGR CPUs to one or more Genius I/O networks.
