IC200ALG630 Functional Description
The IC200ALG630 is a component of the VersaMax I/O platform, originally manufactured by GE Intelligent Platforms (GE IP) and now produced by Emerson Automation. This module is specifically designed for temperature measurement and the integration of non-standard millivolt signals, making it widely used in industrial automation applications.
The IC200ALG630 VersaMax Analog Input Module features seven analog input channels that support direct connection to J, K, T, S, and R-type thermocouples. It also accommodates various millivolt signals ranging from +/-19.5mV to +/-625mV. With a 16-bit resolution Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) on each channel, it ensures high-precision data acquisition. The scanning time is 60 milliseconds per point at 60Hz and 70 milliseconds per point at 50Hz, with a voltage measurement accuracy of +/-0.2% and a temperature measurement accuracy of +/-0.15%.
Additionally, the IC200ALG630 Profibus Master Module offers advanced diagnostic features, including open thermocouple detection, over/under-range alarms, and thermistor fault detection. The module has an LED status indicator that provides operational feedback—green indicates normal operation, while amber signals a fault. It consumes 125mA of backplane current and provides 250VAC continuous isolation with 1500VAC transient isolation.
With a compact design, the IC200ALG630 16-Bit Analog Input Thermocouple Module helps save panel space and enhances signal stability through shielded twisted-pair connections. VersaMax Micro, Micro PLUS and Nano PLC Models
Introduction
Versions of these compact, powerful controllers are available for AC and DC power, and with several different combinations of discrete and analog input and output points. This chapter compares the features of the many VersaMax Nano, Micro and Micro PLUS PLC models that are available. Micro PLUS 20/40/64 CPUs have enhanced memory compared to earlier versions of these CPUs. Firmware versions 4.00 and later cannot be used with the earlier hardware versions.
The VersaMax® PLC family of products includes a broad range of small-size programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with big-PLC features. The VersaMax family includes Nano PLCs (10 points), Micro PLCs (up to 176 I/O points), and Micro PLUS PLCs (up to 320 I/O points) using optional Expansion Units. These small PLCs are the perfect solution for applications such as packaging machines, dispensing machines, and relay replacement.
Changes to the program that do not modify the size of the program are considered wordfor-word changes. Examples include changing the type of contact or coil or changing a reference address used for an existing function block. Changing an operand is usually a word-for-word change. A word-for-word change can be made and downloaded to the PLC while online in programmer mode without having to download the entire block of logic.
