IC200PNS001 Functional Description
The IC200PNS001 is a high-performance Profinet network interface unit from the VersaMax product family. It is designed to facilitate distributed I/O architecture using the Profinet industrial protocol, specifically supporting Profinet Slave Version 2.2 Class A I/O Device. The IC200PNS001 is compatible not only with VersaMax I/O modules but also with PACSystems RX3i and RX7i controllers, making it a versatile solution for industrial automation.
Equipped with two RJ45 ports, the IC200PNS001 VersaMax PROFINET Scanner Modules functions as an embedded switch, requiring only a single IP address. It supports multiple Ethernet topologies, including linear, star, and ring configurations, ensuring flexibility in network design. The 10/100 Mbps transmission rate enables seamless communication, handling up to 2880 bytes of both discrete and analog I/O data—divided equally into 1440 bytes of input and 1440 bytes of output. Additionally, the module features 32 diagnostic input status bits and 32 output control bits, enhancing its monitoring capabilities.
The General Electric IC200PNS001 Remote I/O Module supports up to eight VersaMax I/O modules and carriers per instance, offering configurable data update rates from 1ms to 512ms. It operates with a 5 VDC backplane current consumption of 3 Watts and has compact dimensions of 134mm x 132mm. Using 10/100BASE-T transmission media, it allows a maximum cable distance of 100 meters per segment, extendable via Ethernet switches or fiber optic media converters.
For seamless integration, the GE Fanuc VersaMax IC200PNS001 PROFINET Scanner (PNS) module requires an RX3i PLC CPU with firmware version 7.0 or later and Proficy Machine Edition software version 7.0 or newer. VersaMax Micro, Micro PLUS and Nano PLC Models
Introduction
Versions of these compact, powerful controllers are available for AC and DC power, and with several different combinations of discrete and analog input and output points. This chapter compares the features of the many VersaMax Nano, Micro and Micro PLUS PLC models that are available. Micro PLUS 20/40/64 CPUs have enhanced memory compared to earlier versions of these CPUs. Firmware versions 4.00 and later cannot be used with the earlier hardware versions.
The VersaMax® PLC family of products includes a broad range of small-size programmable logic controllers (PLCs) with big-PLC features. The VersaMax family includes Nano PLCs (10 points), Micro PLCs (up to 176 I/O points), and Micro PLUS PLCs (up to 320 I/O points) using optional Expansion Units. These small PLCs are the perfect solution for applications such as packaging machines, dispensing machines, and relay replacement.
Changes to the program that do not modify the size of the program are considered wordfor-word changes. Examples include changing the type of contact or coil or changing a reference address used for an existing function block. Changing an operand is usually a word-for-word change. A word-for-word change can be made and downloaded to the PLC while online in programmer mode without having to download the entire block of logic.
