The IC693CBL305 RS-232 Cable (1 Meter)- Black Wye Cable is specifically designed to split the two ADC port connections from a single connector on an ADC module. It is provided with the GE Series 90-30 communications coprocessor modules for convenient use.

 

With a maximum length of 30.5 centimeters (1 foot), the IC693CBL305 Series 90-30 Processor Cable is compact yet functional. It features uniquely shaped connectors at both ends: one end includes a right-angle connector to attach to the combined serial port of the communications coprocessor modules, while the other end has dual connectors for Port 1 and Port 2. This configuration gives the cable its distinctive "Y" shape, with a single connector on one side and dual connectors on the other. The IC693CBL305 Wye Cable is compatible with Series 90-30 CMM and PCM modules, which have Port 1 and Port 2 configured as a single connector by default.

Series 90-30 Introduction


The Series 90-30 I/O modules described in this manual can be controlled two ways:

1. With a Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC).

2. With a Personal Computer (PC) that has an installed Personal Computer Interface card (or similar interface). This allows software on the PC to control and monitor Series 90-30 I/O. If you are using Series 90-30 I/O as part of a Series 90-30 PLC system, you should refer to GFK-0356, the Series 90-30 Programmable Controller Installation manual, for more information. If you are using a Personal Computer to control the Series 90-30 I/O, refer to the documentation for the PCIF, your Personal Computer, and your application software for more information.


The History of GE Fanuc PLCs

1986- The GE Fanuc Automation Coproration was jointly established in the U.S.A. by FANUC and General Electric.

 

1987- GE Fanuc releases the series Five PLC.

 

In the late 1980s, the GE IP Series Five PLC became a popular unit for most mid-range PLC applications. A powerful CPU with a wide array of digital and analog I/O modules made the Series 5 a versatile and popular controller.

 

1990- GE releases the 90-30 series PLC.

 

The Series 90-30 PLC is a versatile controller that features redundant power and CPU’s, easy programming, and a modular architecture that lets the user expand the system with their own demands. It is intended to give the user an introduction to the basic components of a GE series 90-30 PLC.

 

1991- Ge releases the 90-70 series PLC.

 

The GE 90-70 is designed to meet challenges for applications such as advanced batch processing, triple modular, and high-speed processing. Based on Intel microprocessor technology, these high-performance controllers can handle large amounts of I/O and greater process memory for the most complicated productions.

 

1998- GE Fanuc releases the Versamax PLC.

VersaMax solution is a single control product that may be used as I/O, as a PLC, or as distributed control for up to 256 I/O points. With its modular and scalable architecture, intuitive, and ease of use, it saves initial costs for machine builders and life-cycle costs for end-users.

 

1999- Ge Fanuc releases Field Control Systems.

 

With Field Control, GE IP offers decentralized I/O and decentralized control in a single, low-cost, modular product. GE IP engineers have refined proven technology to create a truly modular system. Each station of a Field Control network can act as a stand-alone controller, allowing for physical separation of logical control functions and faster processing times.

 

2002- GE releases the Rx7i PLC.

 

The system is designed to replace the 90-70 Series systems. It uses most I / O 90-70 and offers the most advanced I / O. The backplane still uses the VME standard for third-party interfaces. The Rx7i comes with a single control engine and a universal programming environment to ensure application portability across multiple platforms.

 

2003- GE releases the Rx3i Controller.

 

The PACSystems RX3i controller is a Programmable Automation Controller (PAC). The RX3i features a single control engine and a universal programming environment to provide application portability across multiple hardware platforms and deliver a true convergence of control.
