IC694ALG221 Functional Description
The IC694ALG221 is a versatile analog input module from the PACSystem RX3i series by GE Fanuc, designed to integrate with programmable automation controllers (PACs). IC694ALG221 versatile analog input module features four analog input channels that support current signals in the 0-20 mA and 4-20 mA ranges, making it ideal for interfacing with a variety of analog instruments such as transmitters, signal isolators, and converters. This module plays a critical role in systems requiring precise analog measurements and closed-loop control.
The IC694ALG221 versatile analog input module incorporates a built-in analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that allows for the seamless conversion of analog data into digital signals, ensuring compatibility with the host controllers for processing. With a resolution of 4 µA for 4-20 mA inputs and 5 µA for 0-20 mA inputs, it provides high accuracy, offering ±0.1% full-scale accuracy plus an additional ±0.1% of reading. The module also boasts a fast update rate of 2 ms per channel, ideal for dynamic systems. Each of its four channels is factory-calibrated to ensure reliable performance, and the module supports a high common-mode voltage of up to 200 V, with a linearity of less than 1 Least Significant Bit (LSB).
Designed for ease of use, the IC694ALG221 versatile analog input module is hot-swappable, making it convenient for maintenance and installation in live systems. However, users are warned that improper handling during hot-swapping may lead to component damage or injury. It is compatible with all GE RX3i PACSystem CPUs and draws power from the backplane, consuming 100 mA from a 24 VDC isolated supply and 25 mA from the 5 VDC backplane bus. With an input filter response of 325 Hz and 250 Ohm input impedance, IC694ALG221 versatile analog input module is well-suited for high-precision industrial applications.

Regardless of the I/O mix you choose, PACSystems RX3i is built on high speed interfaces to provide rapid and consistent data transfer With the ability to pair I/O, PACSystems RX3i allows you to scale your system with ease. In addition to I/O that you can put on the main rack, you can expand locally or remotely to connect to additional racks of I/O. In fact, PACSystems RX3i can support as few as 8 I/O points and up to 32 thousand I/O points in a single system. With 7 to 16 slot backplanes and 1 slot expansion options, you can create the perfect system to fit your needs.
Eliminate process interruptions with PACSystems RX3i I/O. Beyond just the high performance PACSystems RX3i offers in simplex configurations, high availability configurations are also possible for maximum reliability. Both Ethernet Global Data (EGD) and PROFINET System Redundancy (PNSR) are supported. With gigabit speed and bumpless switchover, choosing RX3i high availability will prevent unexpected failure and costly downtime.
