IC697CHS750 Functional Description
The IC697CHS750 rack, manufactured by GE Fanuc, is an essential I/O rack designed for use with the GE Series 90-70 PLC product line. This rack serves as a connector for various components and modules, ensuring efficient communication between them. It features 5 slots for module installation, allowing for flexible system configuration. IC697CHS750 essential I/O rack is designed with a rear mounting mechanism and is compact, measuring 11.15 inches in height, 12.60 inches in width, and 7.5 inches in depth. With a weight of approximately 2 kilograms, the IC697CHS750 essential I/O rack is easy to install in factory environments and is intended for indoor use only.
The IC697CHS750 essential I/O rack supports modules with individual power supplies on the left side of each slot. It operates with a 5V DC supply and has a current rating of 20 Amps, ensuring reliable performance. The rack is designed for effective convection cooling, utilizing airflow to prevent overheating. For optimal cooling, the air between the rack and the nearest outlet should remain unobstructed.
Additional accessories, such as the backplane J2 jumper kit, are available to aid in installation. The rack is equipped with a removable terminal block accessible through a hinged door, with cables passing through the bottom. A terminal restraining strap on the side helps secure the terminal firmly. To reduce system noise, grounding measures can be implemented. The IC697CHS750 essential I/O rack is a reliable, easy-to-install solution for PLC-based control systems.

Series 90-70 PLC
With our CPX family of CPUs, the Series 90-70 offers more for your automation dollar—more computing power, more memory for your applications, and more communications and redundancy capabilities. And it provides increased flexibility for a variety of applications due to a wide range of isolated and high-density VME analog I/O modules.
Open Architecture
Based on the VME-bus standard, the Series 90-70 can be used with thousands of boards produced by hundreds of different manufacturers to build a solution that meets your exact needs. These include links to drives and drive systems, servo motor controllers, embedded solutions for vision systems and bus-to-bus interface modules, as well as a variety of modules available from GE (see accompanying table).
Various Degrees of Redundancy
Combining the Series 90-70 with the advanced functionality of Genius* I/O, GE Genius Modular Redundancy (GMR) systems and Hot Standby systems can provide as much or as little redundancy as you need for your critical applications.
• The versatility and strength of the GMR system make it an ideal choice for rigorous emergency shutdown and human life protection systems. It has a class 6 TÜV rating.
• Based on three isolated PLCs and extensive diagnostics, the GMR triple modular redundancy system uses two-out-of-three voting to provide high reliability and errorfree operation.
• CPU Genius Redundancy (CGR) systems achieve enhanced hot standby CPU redundancy by connecting two power supplies and two CGR CPUs to one or more Genius I/O networks.
